AVARICE

Presented at Carnegie Mellon's Lunar Gala XXIX: Elysium
Avarice (Latin, noun): excessive or insatiable greed for wealth or material gain
Avarice, as a collection, depicts a journey through birth, blood, greed, and intemperance. Only after experiencing the temptations of the earthly realm, a state of enlightenment can be reached. Exploring different faiths, philosophies, and belief systems, we use our designs to question the value of materialism and the line between the physical, emotional, and spiritual. These pieces use movement, pattern, and texture to represent the constant flow of time juxtaposed with the chaos of human desire.
